Kalakaar 2010 - Unleash your creativity and help a child in need

Kalakaar'10- Unleash your creativity and help a child in need Vibha Kalakaar is a 'one of a kind' event that provides a platform for your creative energies. Children and adults work from the convenience of their own homes to submit stories, paintings or photographs. Online submissions are then published in Vibha's professional website allowing family and friends to share and celebrate the artist in you. Entries are automatically entered into a competition for a trophy. Entries for this year will be accepted from 15 Jan,2010 till 15 March,2010. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the cause of underprivileged children.

New Volunteer Orientation
GAMES, INTERACTION, FUN and CHAI -- YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT !!!New-Volunteer Orientation is being organized to give our new volunteers an opportunity to meet, interact and get to know Vibha as well as the other fellow volunteers. The much awaited Vibha-MN Intranet is also going to be inaugurated!! Be there and share the enthusiasm to volunteer! All volunteers (new, not so new and oldies as well :P) are requested to attend. There are activities/games planned during the meeting that will require existing volunteers to be present and partner with the new volunteers.

NetIP Twin Cities Annual Charity Gala
The Twin Cities chapter of NetIP organized their annual charity dinner on October 18th and this year, NetIP chose Vibha as the beneficiary.

THE DREAM MILE
The annual walk/run is Vibha's signature event and raises the bulk of the funds for the projects that Vibha supports in India and the US. The 5K and 10K Run events were professionally timed and awards were given away in several age categories.
Part of the proceeds were donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities.

Pilgrims of Peace
AID-MN, Vibha, IAM and SILC present Pilgrims of Peace. Pilgrims of peace is a fun, creative and learning fair celebrating life and living through a focus on nonviolence and peace. In a world that finds itself increasingly divided, it is an event that helps us common citizens connect across ethnicities, cultures, and languages. It rejuvenates our belief in the humanity of people. It reaffirms our understanding that we are similar, that our aspirations, our fears, our hopes are similar.

Bowl for a Child is one of our most popular annual events.

Awareness Brunch
Vibha-MN organized a free brunch on September 6, 2003 as part of an awareness drive. Network of Indian Professionals (NetIP) - Twin Cities supported the event. We served home-cooked food prepared by the volunteers and samosas donated by a local Indian restaurant, Jewel of India. Over 70 people attended the event and donated a total of over $750. The success of this event and the resulting increase in our volunteer base has greatly lifted our spirits!
