Our action center here in Houston is a group of energetic and enthusiastic people who share a strong belief that we can positively impact the future of India - even from halfway across the world.

[edit] Volunteer Opportunities

Did you know? India, by one count, has 18 million* street children and over 22 million* child laborers. Nearly 20%** of the children 6-14 years old have no access to primary education. Less than 45%** receive the immunization required to protect them from deadly illnesses. Half the children do not get enough food everyday and are chronically or acutely undernourished. So how can you make a difference? Contact us and we can show you how.

Vibha is a movement that empowers you to make a difference. We aim to ensure that every underprivileged child attains his or her right to education, health and opportunity. Vibha has over 500 volunteers across the United States of America, dedicated to creating brighter futures for underprivileged children. You have dreamt about making a difference but never had the opportunity. Well! Now you do and we are waiting to meet you. We need a lot more hands and are open to any kind of support we can get.

If meetings are not your thing, and you want to volunteer for specific tasks, drop us a note and a Vibha volunteer will contact you. It's that simple! We are always looking for people with the following skills:

• Creative writing - Develop newsletters, sponsorship kits, author fundraising letters, etc.
• Public relations - Design and execute outreach campaigns to reach new volunteers, supporters, patrons, media, etc.
• Project management - Help organize local fund raisers and execute national Vibha programs
• Web authoring skills - Create and maintain local web pages
• Graphic design skills - Design fliers, catalogs, pamphlets, posters, brochures, etc.
• Artistic skills - Raise funds for Vibha through fund raisers featuring the artist in you
