Well, all of us are now basking in the glory of our Cricket World Cup Victory. We are the champions and we feel proud to say so. Though the world cup is over, the cricket fever is here to stay with Vibha Premier League.

Vibha warmly invites all cricket lovers to spend the weekend of 16th and 17th April 2011 at the VPL. Watch and cheer our cricket enthusiasts flex their muscles, settle old scores, and above all enjoy the game they love.

Vibha is providing a grand platform for 12 teams from across Bangalore to come together to not only celebrate their passion for the game but also make a huge difference in the lives of underprivileged children.

All proceeds from the tournament will help two projects supported by Vibha Bangalore.

Shristi Special Academy

A preschool program for rural children. The focus of the program is to provide rural children with preschool facilities found in urban centers. The preschool facility provides not only early learning experiences but also screening for early development disabilities and provide remediation. The program also provides breakfast and lunch to children to meet their nutritional needs.

Sikshana

Is an organization that works under a Government of Karnataka initiative by 'adopting' public schools with the goal of improving graduation rates and educational standards. Vibha is working with Sikshana in 11 public schools in the Bangalore and Kanakpura school districts. Each school is provided a target of improving their children's scores by 15% annually in standardized tests, as well as improving the 10th, 7th grade graduation rates.

Match Dates: The matches will be held in April 16-17th 2011.

[edit] Tournament Format


The games will be played in a knockout stage format. Every two teams will compete with one team moving forward. This will proceed until there are three teams left. Then a round robin format will take place, with each team playing two games and earning points. The winner will be decided on points.
